ルイ・ヴィトンは、第1 回「Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives(ルイ・ヴィトン ウォッチ プライズ フォー インディペンデント クリエイティブズ)」のセミファイナリスト20名を発表。
世界中から寄せられた数百の応募作品の中から、本賞の専門家委員会によりセミファイナリスト20名が選出されました。
「今日のウォッチメイキングは、慣習に果敢に挑戦し、革新によって伝統を現代化し、独自のビジョンに忠実であり続ける作り手たちに属するものです。このたび発表されたセミファイナリストたちは、伝統的なウォッチメイキングの発祥地であるスイスをはじめ、中国、フィンランド、オーストラリア、日本、カナダ、カリフォルニアまで、世界各地の多様なウォッチメーカーを代表しています。彼らは皆が、時計愛好家が何よりも高く評価する価値観すべて、すなわち、独自の美学、精度、そして妥協のないクラフツマンシップといったものを表現する存在です」とルイ・ヴィトンのウォッチ部門ディレクターであるジャン・アルノーは語ります。

今後、専門家委員会は、主にクリエーションおよび / または時計構造のデザイン、クリエイティビティ、革新性、クラフツマンシップ、技術的な複雑性といった質的基準に基づいて、この20名のセミファイナリストを審査。
2023年12月にはルイ・ヴィトンより、ファイナリスト5名が発表されます。ファイナリストは2024年2月にパリにて、自身のタイムピースのプレゼンテーションを最終審査員団*に対して行います。
そして「Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives」最優秀賞は、2024年2月にパリで開催されるルイ・ヴィトン主催のセレモニーで授与されます。受賞者には、15万ユーロの助成金や、メゾンのウォッチメイキングアトリエ「ラ・ファブリク・デュ・タン ルイ・ヴィトン」による、1年間のパーソナライズされたメンターシップが提供されます。
