About JPYC

JPYC Inc. develops and operates JPYC, the Japanese Yen Stable Coin, which is issued as a third-party prepaid means of payment in compliance with the Funds Settlement Act. While technically similar to crypto assets, it is legally clear to Japanese law. JPYC is currently issued on various public blockchains including Ethereum and Polygon.

JPYC Corporation is the first company in Japan to issue JPYC, a stablecoin linked to the Japanese yen. With the mission of "breaking through social dilemmas," we hope to make the world of cryptocurrencies and the real world seamless and increase the liquidity of capital, thereby creating a society where everyone can innovate. Currently, we issue cryptocurrencies as a third-party prepaid means of payment, but we aim to obtain licenses as a fund transfer business and as an electronic means of payment transaction business in accordance with the revised Funds Settlement Act, which will come into effect in June 2023, and we will promote innovation in Japan by increasing capital efficiency.

We have been working with Mr. Okabe of JPYC Corporation since he was a speaker at the same event in 2021. We believe that stablecoins linked to legal tender are essential to expand the world of crypto. In Japan, ahead of the rest of the world, the revised Funds Settlement Law went into effect in June of this year, making Japan one of the few countries in the world that can officially issue stablecoins. Our company would like to encourage this major trend.
