健康長寿スタートアップ株式会社ekei labs（本社：東京都渋谷区、沖縄オフィス：沖縄県恩納村、創業者兼CEO：カルニ・ビラル、以下ekei labs）は、沖縄科学技術大学院大学（所在地：沖縄県恩納村、学長： マルキデス・カリン、以下OIST）と提携したファンドを運用する日本のプレシードベンチャーキャピタル、ライフタイムベンチャーズ（本社：神奈川県横浜市、沖縄オフィス：沖縄県恩納村、代表パートナー：木村 亮介、國井 紅秋）が主導するプレシード資金調達を行いました。
2018年の設立以来、ekei labsは、血液検査を用いた体内年齢評価の提供することで、ユーザーが個人のライフスタイルを調整し、高齢化管理を通じ、老化に対しての自己介入を可能としています。今回の資金調達を通じて、ekei labsは、OISTの一流の科学研究と施設を活用し、DNAメチル化技術の研究を加速させ、体内年齢検査を一般の人々にも身近なものにすることを目指しています。
高齢化が進み平均寿命が延びる中、世界の長寿分野では人々の生活の質を高める方向に動いています。体内年齢老化に対処することは、老化に関連した病気の治療という消極的なアプローチから、生涯にわたる高齢化・健康管理という積極的なアプローチにつながります。The Lancet誌に掲載された研究では、体内年齢老化現象を遅らせることによる経済効果は約37兆ドルと書かれています。[1]

ekei labs, a trailblazing Japanese longevity startup, has successfully concluded its pre-seed funding round, led by Lifetime Ventures, a Japanese pre-seed venture capital firm managing funds in partnership with the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST).
Since its inception, ekei labs aims to transform the longevity industry by providing user-friendly tools for biological age assessment, empowering individuals to tailor their lifestyles based on their results, thus facilitating interventions in the ageing process. This recent funding round strengthens ekei labs' dedication to pioneering innovation in the field of ageing through backing from Lifetime Ventures and integration into the OIST ecosystem.
