アジア学院校長荒川朋子が4月27日(土)に高崎でイベント「さっちゃん、おかえりなさい」のゲストスピーカーとして登壇します。
「さっちゃん、おかえりなさい」は釜ヶ崎で医師として活躍した矢島祥子さんを取り上げたイベント。
矢島祥子…日雇い労働者の町、大阪市西成区釜ヶ崎にて、一般の患者さんも、路上生活者も、生活貧困者も分け隔てなく、献身的に医療を行った医師。2009年、34歳の若さでこの世を去る。さっちゃんの、どんな人とも純粋に向き合う心はどのように育まれていったのでしょう。

荒川は明日4月3日(水)の高崎ロータリークラブ例会で、「アジア学院～世界にひとつの農村指導者養成事業」と題しての卓話も務めます。

ARI Director Tomoko Arakawa will be the guest speaker at an event "Sacchan, Welcome Home" in Takasaki on Saturday, April 27.
"Satchan, welcome back" is an event about Sachiko Yajima, a doctor in Kamagasaki.
Sachiko Yajima…a doctor who devoted herself to medical care in Kamagasaki, Nishinari-ku, Osaka City, a town of day laborers, without separating ordinary patients, people living on the streets, and the living poor.
She passed away in 2009 at the young age of 34. We wonder how Sacchan's heart, which genuinely faced any kind of people, was nurtured.

Arakawa will participate in the panel discussion as the Director of ARI, a school where international participants from all over the world, with diverse social environments, gather to learn.
