先日アメリカの寿司の歴史 についてお伝えしたばかりだが、現地ではすでに新たなSUSHIが生まれているようだ。
米カリフォルニア州 ロサンゼルス にて、海苔を揚げてトルティーヤに見立てた「寿司タコス 」が販売され話題となっている。
これはメキシコ 料理で有名なタコス の形にヒント を得たもの。丸くカットした海苔の天ぷら に酢飯と揚げた魚介類、マグロ やアボカドなどを挟み、スパイシー なマヨソースなどをかけていただく。

米カリフォルニア州 ロサンゼルス の食品店”Norigami”は日本の折り紙 と海苔にインスパイア されたという寿司タコス (sushi nori taco)を販売している。
image credit:instagram［https://www.instagram.com/norigamitacos/］ 折り曲げたまま揚げた海苔の天ぷら の内側に酢飯を薄く敷き、揚げた魚介やマグロ の刺身、それにアボカドやカイワレ 、タマネギ などの生野菜 を散らしてマヨなどのソースをかけたものが主流で、名前にタコス を絡めているものの、味のほうはアメリカの巻き寿司に近そうだ。

すると予想以上にうまかったそうで、これがきっかけで寿司タコス が誕生した。今はさまざまなメニューがあるようだ。

寿司タコス は現時点ではロサンゼルス 市とオレンジ郡の路面店のみで販売しているが、2017年の本格出店を目指しFacebookなどで資金を募っているという。
うん。揚げ物 好き、タコス 好きな私としては絶対に食べてみた い。っていうかクマ姉さん にやってもらうか。
